Lunch Meeting October 30, 2013

Today we welcome old friends, Swiss Rotarians Wolf and Maria Ulbricht, who will be with us for several months.  We also welcome District Governor Ellen Blasi, who was introduced most ably by Assistant DG Lygia Corredor.

DG Ellen emphasized the value of doing  humanitarian work while still having a  good time. We were encouraged to connect to the Rotary website, www. and to continue our efforts to bring in new members. Zone 34 includes all of Florida, Georgia the Caribbean and Surinam,Guyana and French Guiana.

We were invited to sign up for the multi-district International Conference May 1st to 4th, 2014 in Grand Lucayan, Bahamas.

Finally, our effort to free the world of polio is coming to fruition, but is not over yet. There still are a few countries remaining. We did it. Congratulation are in order for all of our members. DG Ellen’s final words were to “engage Rotary”.

Dave did his usual good job in auctioning off several articles donated by Lucille, and starting the bids for a nice painting of the Statue of Liberty.

After the 50/50 raffle and Happy Bucks, the meeting ended with the Four Way Test.
